Bollywood Bromance

Oh, grab a double-double, and let me tell ya about the latest tussle between Trudeau and India, eh! So, Conservative head honcho Pierre Poilievre is pointing fingers at our Prime Minister, saying Trudeau’s the reason for this frosty diplomatic affair with India, like, whoa.

We need a “professional relationship” with India

According to Poilievre, we need a “professional relationship” with India, you know, none of this drama. Trudeau blabbed in the House of Commons about Canadian spies checkin’ out some “credible” link between India’s government and the offing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia.

But it’s not just about Trudeau and Modi’s government having a little spat—it’s become a full-blown kerfuffle. Poilievre’s yappin’ about Trudeau causing “aggression shown to Indian diplomats at public events” and all that jazz.

Trudeau spilled the beans about the Nijjar case, and Poilievre’s callin’ him out, sayin’ he’s turnin’ Canadians against each other, pointing fingers at vandalism at Hindu places of worship. Poilievre’s all, “There should be criminal charges laid against anyone who attacks either the property or people at Hindu mandirs, just like anywhere else.”

Trudeau’s become the butt of jokes in India…

And get this, Poilievre claims Trudeau’s become the butt of jokes in India, the world’s biggest democracy. His office’s keepin’ mum about it, though.

Meanwhile, India’s foreign affairs minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, is sayin’ they might thaw out the freeze on Canadian visas if we promise to keep their diplomats safe. He’s also throwin’ shade at the federal Liberals, sayin’ the issues are with a certain slice of Canadian politics.

So, it’s a real doozy, eh

Trudeau and Poilievre squabblin’, India freezin’ visas, and accusations flyin’ left and right. Grab the popcorn, it’s a political drama, Canadian style, buddy!
